What drives us

+500riverside families working directly with us

The forest is worth
more standing.

Before the factory came an insight. In 1995, on the riverbanks of Belém, our founder saw an opportunity in açaí that was going to waste: to create income for people who live from the forest and bring food to those far beyond it.

The answer began with direct partnerships with local cooperatives. It grew through infrastructure, technology and new markets. And it still starts in the same place: respect for the people who harvest the fruit and the forest that makes it all possible.

A story in motion

Our story opens
paths to the future.

Every milestone opened a new path.
Explore the years of our journey.

Belém do Pará / The beginning

01 / An opportunity by the river

Finding a new path
in the fruit.

Our açaí operation begins in Belém. Relationships with riverside communities and cooperatives lay the foundations for a supply chain that brings together responsible harvesting, income opportunities and respect for our roots.

Barueri, São Paulo / The brand

02 / Our roots reach further

Whaka is born.
The story grows.

The founding of Whaka in Barueri brings Amazonian pulp to new sales channels. Manufacturing turns the raw material into products and brings our story to more shelves.

International operations / New destinations

03 / Ambition without borders

The world becomes
part of our story.

The launch of our international operation opens a new chapter. Taking açaí to other markets connects our roots with different cultures, ways of enjoying food and business partners.

Greater Belém, Pará / Infrastructure

04 / Growing close to our roots

More capacity
where it all begins.

Opening our plant in the Belém region strengthens processing at source. A decisive step in controlling raw material quality and following the fruit from the very beginning of the supply chain.

New industrial complex / Greater capacity

05 / Room for the next leap

A new home.
More possibilities.

We move production to a new, larger industrial complex. Capacity reaches 55,000 litres a day, keeping pace with market growth and improving production efficiency.

Brazil and the world / Leadership and growth
From the forest to the world

06 / A milestone to celebrate

Among Brazil's top five.
Present in 19 countries.

Whaka is among Brazil's five largest companies in the açaí category and a leader in private label. With a presence in 19 countries, global expansion brings our roots to new shelves — through Whaka and the brands we develop for our partners.

From our roots to the future

Caring for our roots is part of our journey.

From choosing ingredients to caring for the forest and its people, we seek improvements at every stage.

Wellbeing

Making informed choices is part of taking care of yourself. Explore the ingredients, portions and options in our range to find what fits your routine, without giving up flavour.

Environmental conservation

A standing forest has value for those who live from it and for all of us. Valuing açaí and its origins means recognising the importance of biodiversity and conserving the Amazon.

Social responsibility

People are at the heart of our story. Partnerships with riverside families and cooperatives connect the knowledge of those who harvest the fruit with opportunities to take açaí further.

Choices and materials

Care for nature also guides our packaging choices. The Excellence, Black, Glow, Gourmet and The Whaka ranges include biodegradable paperboard packaging, combining care for the product with concern for the environment. Proper disposal is also part of this commitment.

Nature meets technology

To go further,
we care at every step.

From raw material to finished product, we connect every stage of production. This is how our roots reach further and care follows every batch.
